I am running a chateau holiday business in France and I am offering a long term rental of part of the chateau to other families who would like to have a `French experience` with their children, learn French, live in a beautiful chateau etc. Flights to and from the UK are quick and cheap so the distance away from `home` is not very great.

There is one suite in the chateau with shared kitchen, dining and living rooms and one self-contained apartment to rent at very reasonable longer term rates.

I will be living there with my 3 children aged 15, 13 and 11 and my husband. I have a good knowledge of the area.

A gap year in France, with lots of support from another family, would be an ideal experience for families who are in a position to take a year out, especially for the self-employed working via the internet. The children would learn French and it would be a very exciting project. There are a host of fantastic activities in the area too.

The suggested price is per month and can change according to the amount of family members.
